Amazon PPC (Pay-Per-Click) ads are one of the best ways to get more sales on Amazon. If you are new to it, don’t worry, I’ll guide you step by step in the simplest way possible. By the end, you’ll be confident enough to launch your very first campaign.

What is Amazon PPC?

Amazon PPC is an advertising system where sellers pay only when a shopper clicks their ad. You boost your product via ad, and your ad shows up in search results or product detail pages, helping you get more visibility and sales.

Example: If you set a $1 bid per click and 10 people click your ad, you spend $10.

Types of Amazon PPC Ads

Before setting up a campaign, let’s quickly look at the three main types:

  1. Sponsored Products – Ads for individual products (most common for beginners).
  2. Sponsored Brands – Ads that show your brand logo + multiple products.(For brand Owner)
  3. Sponsored Display – Ads shown on and off Amazon to reach more customers.

For your first campaign, we’ll use Sponsored Products.

Step 1: Log in to Seller Central

Step 2: Create a New Campaign

  • Click Create Campaign
  • Select Sponsored Products

Step 3: Campaign Settings

Here’s what you’ll set up:

  • Campaign Name → Something simple like “First PPC Campaign – Product Name”
  • Start & End Date → You can choose an ongoing campaign (no end date).
  • Daily Budget → Start small ($10–$20 per day is fine).

Step 4: Choose Targeting Type

  • Automatic Targeting → Amazon decides where your ads appear (best for beginners).
  • Manual Targeting → You choose keywords (better once you gain experience).

👉 For your first campaign, go with Automatic Targeting.

Step 5: Set Bids

Amazon will give you a suggested bid. For example:

  • Suggested Bid: $0.75 per click
  • You can start with $0.70–$0.80. or even lower and increase it gradually.

💡 Tip: Start low, then increase if you are not getting impressions (views).

Step 6: Select Products

  • Choose the product(s) you want to advertise.
  • Make sure your listing has good images, title, and description, because ads only bring traffic, but your listing converts it into sales.

Step 7: Launch Campaign

  • Click Launch Campaign
  • Done 🎉! Your ads will now start running.

Important Metrics to Track

Once your campaign is live, check your metrics daily:

  • Impressions → How many times your ad was shown.
  • Clicks → How many people clicked your ad.
  • CTR (Click-Through Rate) = (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100
    • Example: 200 clicks ÷ 10,000 impressions = 2% CTR
  • CPC (Cost Per Click) → Average amount you pay per click.
  • ACoS (Advertising Cost of Sale) = (Ad Spend ÷ Sales) × 100
    • Example: If you spend $50 and make $200 in sales, ACoS = 25%.

👉 Lower ACoS is better (means you spend less to make more sales).
